EurAsEC-ESCAP National Workshop on Strengthening Institutional Capacity
to Support Energy Efficiency in Tajikistan

and the Government of Tajikistan

The Workshop is framed upon the project’s overall goal of strengthening the institutional capacity for the implementation of energy efficiency policies in Asia. In this context, the two-day national workshop was expected to accomplish four objectives:

  1. 1. To understand the status and ongoing efforts on energy efficiency in Tajikistan toward identification of a conceptual framework to further enhance impacts of energy efficiency policies in the country

  2. 2. To identify institutional challenges and assess barriers in promoting and implementing energy efficiency policy and strategies in Tajikistan

  3. 3. To solicit support and participation of key stakeholders and partners in the development of action-based strategies for institutional capacity building for the implementation of energy efficiency policy and strategies in the country

  4. 4. To identify possible priority projects and prepare for follow up actions for presentation at the subregional workshop in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 28 and 29 March 2011.
